In these challenging times the importance of international trade to the UK economy is very significant.  The West Midlands is known for connecting and trading throughout the world and contributes to the health of the local economy from sectors as diverse as the traditional manufacturing industries to business and professional services; from the creative industries to logistics and transport.

The role played by the Midlands World Trade Forum in providing mentoring and support to companies involved in or aspiring to international trade is vital.   As the Minister for Trade & Investment I am delighted to underline my support for the MWTF in all its efforts to increase awareness of the benefits of international trade.
