Introducing the newly appointed MWTF Business Manager Karen Mercer-West


As you will have read in the Summer Newsletter, Glenis handed over the reigns to me of the MWTF at the beginning of July and to date – it has been quite a ride! 

Over that time, I have met some members, Service Providers, partners and colleagues while exhibiting, working on our exciting new events schedule and working with the board to develop the strategy for the MWTF in the long term – amongst other things!

LEPs (Local Enterprise Partnerships) to be formed in the West Midlands


It has been reported via Insider, that ten Local Enterprise Partnership submissions will appear before a House of Commons' select committee in October. 

Among them are delegates representing bids from: Greater Manchester; Leeds City Region; Business Voice West Midlands; Coventry and Warwickshire; Cambridge and Peterborough; Coast to Capital Hove, Enterprise M3; Newcastle Gateshead; Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly and South East Midlands.

Using languages in International Business

Chancellor praises Dudley Engineering Firm - BRI-MAC Engineering


Dudley firm BRI-MAC Engineering recently hosted a visit by the Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne MP, who praised the company for its export growth which has helped to double turnover during the last four years.

Speaking on BBC Midlands Today, he added that it would be firms like BRI-MAC that will create jobs and growth in the UK economy. The Chancellor was joined by Dudley South MP Chris D Kelly, who commented “I was delighted that the Chancellor accepted my invitation to visit one of the engineering jewels in Dudley South's manufacturing crown.”

"How the East can be won" MWTF Board Member co hosts 10th Twinning of Sandwell and Armistar


The 10th Anniversary Twinning of these two great towns has proved incredible not only for Sandwell but for the whole of Britain. 

It demonstrated that British Society is fast becoming the model of Business, Enterprise, academic excellence and ethical coherence.
