The Opportunities:
China with a population of over 1.3 billion and over 100 cities with a population in excess of 1 million still offers plenty of opportunities for both sourcing products but also selling to the growing middle classes – which total about 300 Million people. There is a demand from Chinese companies and Sports organisers to use British expertise in the Sports & Leisure sector to supply International Sports events such as the Beijing Olympics (where in excess of 30 UK companies secured £2 billion worth of contracts), F1 Grand Prix, Golf, Tennis and snooker tournaments. There are also opportunities in Sports R&D, Sports infrastructure, Sports Management, Fitness Centres/gyms, and expertise in the commercial use of stadia and of course football.
Opportunities are also available in the Marine and gardening sectors as well as other areas in the field of Sports & Leisure such as consultancy, Sports/Leisure/Tourism Marketing and PR as well as suppliers of infrastructure, technology and know-how to amusement parks.

Eligibility
Small to medium sized enterprises based in the West Midlands from within or supplying products/services to the Sports & Leisure Sector. Companies not meeting the criteria for financial support may still be able to join the visit, please enquire with Alastair McTavish, details below. The Trade Mission is flexible and delegates will be free to extend their stay or travel on to other markets after the visit.
Costs
Estimated costs are from £1500 including economy flights, visas, six nights hotel accommodation (cost for flights and hotels are subject to availability and current exchange rates) and your company profile translated into Chinese Mandarin.
